Joe DioGuardi,
Republican Conservative candidate against Kirsten
Gillibrand, paid a visit to Schenectady on Friday
night. DioGuardi, a son of Italian immigrants,
greeted many local residents at Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel’s annual FESTA. Being joined by Republican
leader Tom Buchanan and Assemblyman Amedore,
DioGuardi connected with patrons through his message
of traditional family values and the need to
preserve the American Dream through fiscal
responsibility. Describing his own story, DioGuardi
said, “The American Dream, which my father benefited
from as a poor Italian immigrant, and which I passed
on to my children, John and Kara, is in now in
jeopardy.”
